Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified ESHS Specialist with extensive experience in power plant and underground infrastructure projects to oversee the implementation of environmental, social, health, and safety (ESHS) standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with international standards and safeguarding environmental and community interests during construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate the Contractor’s Project-specific Environmental and Social Management Plan (PA-ESMP) submitted during construction.
Monitor the Contractor’s implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plans, reporting on compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Identify and recommend corrective actions for cases affecting the environment or residential communities during the construction process.
Issue warnings for safety-related non-compliance, halting construction activities if necessary until remedial measures are implemented.
Review ESHS requirements and provide inputs for the project completion report.
Collaborate with PMB3 and financiers to ensure alignment with SSC-specific tasks and project standards.
Oversee adherence to international ESHS standards, including those outlined by the World Bank (WB), International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Social, Health, and Safety fields or related disciplines.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in power plant projects with ESHS compliance to international standards such as WB, IFC, and ADB.
At least 15 years of experience in underground infrastructure projects.
Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of ESHS frameworks and their practical implementation in construction projects.
Familiarity with risk mitigation, monitoring, and reporting tools.
Skills and Attributes:
Proven ability to evaluate and monitor ESHS compliance in high-risk construction environments.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills for stakeholder engagement.
Capability to prepare detailed ESHS reports and recommend actionable solutions.
